OutreachOur outreach team works throughout the year following the examples of Jesus Christ.

Food PantryWe collect money and food for our local Food Pantry and work there to help distribute food on the 3rd Thursday and Friday quarterly.

Foreign Mission SupportWe have a relationship to a sister congregation in Peru supporting their ministries and to the Lutheran Church in the Central African Republic, where we support the Educational Missionary Susan Smith.  Trips have been taken by members to Peru and by our Pastor to Africa.

Ministerial Alliancewe work in cooperation with local churches to assist those in need in our community.

Stephen MinistryAt St. Paul we have 6 trained Stephen Ministers. They work with individuals in our community and church to nurture, bring hope and work towards healing.

Lutheran World Relief MinistryThe ladies in our church meet on the 4th Tuesday of each month They gather together to make quilts, health kits, school kits and sewing kits to send overseas.

Hats, Scarves & Socks for the Homeless – A number of people work throughout the year knitting hats & scarves for the homeless. These, along with socks & toiletries are delivered in the winter months at Houston area soup kitchens.

“Help”ersDo minor repairs, painting, mowing and building ramps for people in the community.

EvangelismOur dedicated team reaches out to members and non-members with the good news of Jesus Christ in Word and deed.

Assisting Communion and visitation ministersThis is a group of trained people who visit our local nursing homes and shut-ins to bring them the healing presence of Jesus Christ through visits, prayers and the distribution of Holy Communion.

Meals that healThis group of people provide meals to individuals after they are released from the hospital.

Prayer TeamOn the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays each month, members of the church gather together to pray for people and their needs, as well as things happening in our community and beyond.  We are serious about the power of prayer at St. Paul.

Bereavement teamprovides for families and individuals after the loss of a loved one; from meals, care baskets, or printed materials to help in the grief process. 

Welcome TeamThese folks work to make sure people are invited, welcomed and plugged into ministry opportunities at church.

Stewardship This team works with the time, talents and treasures given to St. Paul through its members and others to support not only the ministry of St. Paul, but many other organizations, groups and individuals.  From financial support to Texas Lutheran University; Tree House Ministries, a campus ministry at Texas A & M and Blinn College; Luther Hill a camping ministry site outside of LaGrange Texas;  Brenham Mission Society; Habitat for Humanity; Lutheran Seminary of the Southwest; Gideon’s; and World Hunger, to name a few.

FellowshipThis team plans and provides opportunities for people to get together to enjoy each other’s company, usually around food, and lots of it.  Besides dinners at church, God’s Gals meets the last Sunday of each month to go out to dinner.  Christmas Caroling also gives a large group of people a chance to sing their favorite Christmas songs and bring smiles to shut-ins and Nursing Home residents.

EducationWe have many Education and Bible Study opportunities here at St. Paul.  Children and youth meet every Wednesday during the school year for Christian education.  Click on the Youth tab or Education tab for bible study opportunities.

Men in MissionThe 1st Saturday of each month men of the church get together for breakfast, bible study, and usually a service project.

Women’s Bible Study.  Morning Circle meets the 3rd Wednesday at 9am in the fellowship hall. 

Co-Ed Bible StudiesSunday morning in the library at 10:05 am.  Noon Bible Study meets every Tuesday in the library.  Friday morning Bible Study is the 2nd Friday of each month at 11am. 

Children’s Educational InstructionWe offer classes on Wednesday nights for Pre-School through High School.  Each year we also provide and plan an Easter Egg Hunt, VBS, Rally Day, Trunk or Treat and a Christmas Program.  Vacation Bible School is a huge emphasis of St. Paul that is scheduled in the middle of July every year.

Confirmation MinistryThis is a two year program, normally starting the 7th grade for students to get in depth instruction into faith, the church, and Scripture.  They meet during the school year on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings.  Each summer they attend camp with Pastor and sponsors for a week.  This year we are going to Colorado.  They also do individual and group service projects.  Participation in worship services as an acolyte is required.
